Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in product development and play a key role in supporting our innovative furniture design process?
Our Product Development team is seeking a proactive, organised, and physically capable Product Development Intern to join us for a rewarding and fast-paced internship.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the furniture industry and develop practical skills in both administration and product handling
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Physical Material Handling: Assist with moving, organising, and setting up furniture components and prototypes (occasional lifting up to 40kg required).
- Raw Material Collection & Delivery:Support the Administrator in sourcing and transporting materials such as fabric swatches and hardware for sample production.
- Sample Room Maintenance: Keep the sample room and showroom organised, clearly labelled, and presentation-ready.
- Administrative Support: Assist with photocopying, filing, organising documents, and general administrative tasks for the team.
- Logistics & Dispatch: Prepare and pack materials for both internal and external transfers, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.
- Workspace & Tool Maintenance: Help maintain clean, organised, and safe workspaces and tools.
- Learning & Adaptability: Engage actively in learning about furniture development and manufacturing. Be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma (NQF 6) in;-
- Business Administration,
- Product Development,
- Or a related field
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Good numeracy and time management skills
