Haw & Inglis (H&I) invites South African students to apply for Bursaries Programme for 2025 / 2026.

Students will enter the Matric gap year programme in 2025, where they will partake in various disciplines within the Built Environment, including:
- Civil Engineering and Construction Works
- Structural Concrete Works
- Renewable Energy and Solar Power
- Quantity Surveying
- Commercial Building
- Marine, Water and Sanitation
- Surveying
- Safety
- Mechanical and Electrical
After completing the Matric gap year programme, students will enter the Bursary programme, for 2026 studies within the following fields, at selected universities:
- Civil Engineering
- Construction
- Surveying
- Mechanical / Electrical
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Quantity Surveying
Bursary selection will be based on the following main factors: overall site performance during the Gap Year, acceptance into an approved institution (listed below) and operational requirements.
Requirements:
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Matric gap year programme (2025):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be currently in Matric, in 2024
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Pure Mathematics/ Technical Mathematics and Physical Science
- You must be willing to take a “gap year” in 2025
- You must be willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa, for the duration of the 2025 programme
- You must intend on studying towards one of the qualifications listed above, in 2025
Bursary programme (2026):
- You must complete the Matric gap year programme and meet the criteria for the overall site performance during the gap year
- You must be accepted into one of the study programmes listed above, for the 2026 academic year
- You must intend on studying at one of the following sponsored institutions: University of Cape Town (UCT), Stellenbosch University (SU), University of Pretoria (UP), University of Johannesburg (UJ), University of Witwatersrand (Wits), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Nelson Mandela University (NMU)

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your email application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- ID Document (certified copy)
- Matric latest results
Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of above documents to apply.
