The University of the Free State (UFS) is calling on academically talented Matric learners from the Free State province to apply for the prestigious Star of Stars Competition for the 2026 academic year. This bursary competition is open to all fields of study at UFS and seeks to recognise learners who excel in academics, leadership, and community involvement.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be in Matric in 2025
- Must reside in Fezile Dabi, Lejweleputswa, Motheo, Thabo Mofutsanyana, or Xhariep
- Must attend a Quintile 1, 2 or 3 school in the Free State
- Must have strong academic results
- Must apply for admission to UFS for 2026 before the closing date
- Application form must be signed and stamped by your school principal
Required Supporting Documents:
- Certified copy of ID
- Grade 11 final and Matric March & June results (certified)
- Proof of achievements (Grade 11 and Matric)
- Motivational letter (±500 words)
