Agricultural Research Council (ARC) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for a 36-month Graduate Internships / Internship Programme 2024-2027.

INTERNSHIPS X5: GERMPLASM DEVELOPMENT FOR SMALL GRAIN
(THREE (3) YEARS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
Key Performance Areas:
- Contribute to research and technical activities of multiple projects.
- Participates in planning and coordinating glasshouse, field and laboratory experiments.
- Carry out data collection, capturing, and basic analysis under supervision.
- Participates in the identification and development of new business opportunities.
- Participate in the successful transfer of scientific technology i.e. compilation of reports, oral and poster presentations.
- Pro-actively provide technical input within the context of the research project/s.
- Contribute to research by rendering desired support to research staff and optimise the utilisation of resources allocated to projects.
- Utilise and maintain facilities, apparatus and equipment.
- Comply to Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- A 3 year National Diploma in;-
- Agriculture
- Biotechnology
- Crop Production
- Genetics
- Plant Breeding
- Plant Science
- Molecular Biology
- Or related fields
- Knowledge of maintenance of equipment and infrastructure needed for research.
- Understanding of basic principles of research.
- Flexible and strong willingness to learn.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
