Babcock Africa Services has an exciting opportunity within Babcock Ntuthuko Engineering Business Unit for an Mechatronic Graduate to gain practical experience within. the steam generation and energy industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support:
- Assist with engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
- Participate in the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Help with the evaluation of project requirements, specifications, and performance criteria.
Project Participation:
- Work on various aspects of engineering projects, such as planning, design, and implementation, in coordination with senior engineers.
- Conduct site visits or inspections to ensure that work is performed according to plan.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data to support project decisions.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that engineering projects comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance practices.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest engineering codes and standards applicable to the field.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other engineers, architects, project managers, and stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects.
- Provide technical input and support to team members when required.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously learn and apply engineering principles, software tools, and industry best practices.
- Take part in professional development activities, workshops, or seminars to stay current in the field.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Degree in Mechatronic Engineering
- No Post University experience required
- Self – motivated, energetic and ability to motivate others
- Ability to make tough decisions and manage complexity
- Strong communication and people skills
- Hands on and get things done type of personality (action orientated)
- An optimistic and curious mindset
- Logical and critical thinking skills essential for this position
