Are you a young, motivated individual with a minimum of a Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management? Looking to gain hands-on experience in the logistics sector? Exemplar Workforce is offering an exciting opportunity for two Zone Controller Interns as part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme!
Responsibilities:
As a Zone Controller Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Offloading and loading vehicles.
- Dispatching stock or delivery trucks.
- Updating and maintaining Floor reports.
- Updating and maintaining Proof of Delivery (POD) reports.
- Updating and maintaining Collections dashboard and reports.
- Writing or printing manifests, delivery notes, and trip sheets.
- Liaising with delivery staff and customers.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and safety.
- Reporting irregularities to your supervisor.
- Assisting with customer queries via phone, email, or chat, ensuring high customer satisfaction and proper documentation of interactions.
- Ensuring that all freight is planned into the correct location.
- Route planning, optimising delivery schedules, and ensuring timely transportation of goods.
- Being available for rotational weekend shifts.
- Briefing and debriefing drivers daily.
- Conducting daily floor walks to ensure stock is en route as planned.
- Planning routes daily for the night shift to action.
- Handling depot collection documents.
- Managing the Local Utilisation and Productivity Report daily.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Available for shift work, including weekends.
