About the Role:
L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation division is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Skin Care Development Intern to contribute to the development of innovative and cutting-edge skincare formulations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working alongside leading scientists and researchers in the beauty industry. The successful candidate will be passionate about skincare science and eager to learn about the entire product development process, from concept to formulation. They will also be digitally savvy, with a keen interest in data analysis and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of experiments related to skin care formulation.
- Prepare laboratory samples and conduct various tests, including stability testing, viscosity measurements, and pH analysis.
- Accurately record experimental data and maintain organized laboratory records.
- Analyse data and contribute to the interpretation of results.
- Conduct literature reviews to stay abreast of current research and trends in skincare science and technology.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with other team members on various projects.
- Explore digital tools and analytical methods to enhance formulation development.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline, such as;-
- Biochemistry,
- Chemistry,
- Biology,
- Or a related field.
- Recent graduates with relevant coursework may also be considered.
- Strong interest in skin care science, formulation development, and the beauty industry.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated passion for digital technologies and data analytics.
- Active interest in pursuing further education (Masters, Postgraduate studies) or relevant short courses is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Points:
- Prior laboratory experience in a research or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with cosmetic ingredients and formulation techniques.
- Experience with data analysis software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
