About the Momentum Internship Programme

Momentum’s internship programme provides a 12-month internship agreement (not an employment contract) with a monthly stipend of R6,500. This is a great way to gain practical experience in a professional environment, develop your skills, and improve your employability in the competitive job market.

Sales Credit Risk Internship

Duties and Responsibilities:

CREDIT RISK MONITORING

  • Conduct sales credit risk assessments (on-boarding, credit risk re-evaluations and continuous monitoring)
  • Provide Channel Management with recommendations pertaining to associated risks when contracting with intermediaries i.e., Fit and Proper Status; Financial Standing; Performance etc.
  • Provide Channel Management with recommendations pertaining to proactive management of risk levels.
  • Perform credit and industry checks on sales parties.
  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights on risk mitigating and managing sales credit risk.
  • Monitor and make proactive recommendations on credit risk levels.
  • Monitor and drive debt recovery of all in service contracts.

CLIENT

  • Build and maintain relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • A related tertiary qualification – or studying towards (BCom; Risk Management or LLB)
  • Minimum 1 year working experience.

Sales Payroll Administrator Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Payments –
    • Processing of unrealized transactions
    • Update and maintain scheduler.
    • Administer and update Commspace.
    • Monitor Corporate Extracts, proactively rectify
    • Maintain knowledge of contracts
  • Reconciliations –
    • Completing relevant recons accurately and timeously
  • Query Resolution –
    • Providing detailed, accurate and easily understandable feedback to stakeholders
    • Providing regular updates on outstanding queries
    • Resolving and closing out queries from stakeholders
    • Resolving payment related queries timeously
    • Actioning PC Changes accurately and in accordance with business rules and agreed processes
  • Journals –
    • Accurately processing relevant journals
  • Record-keeping –
    • Logging accurate transaction types on business systems
    • Accurate recording of supporting documentation onto business systems
  • Self-Management –
    • Managing own performance and development

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • A related tertiary qualification – or studying towards an advantage
  • A minimum of 1 years’ sales remuneration experience in the financial services industry preferable

Forensic Investigator Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

Internal Process

  • Assist in tracking, documenting, and maintaining provider debt records.
  • Support the reconciliation of outstanding balances and payments.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of debt recovery actions.
  • Assist in preparing reports on provider debt trends and outstanding recoveries.
  • Support the review of financial data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with scheme legal service providers to coordinate debt recovery processes for handover.
  • Ensure compliance with scheme policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in responding to provider queries related to debt management.

Client

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver on service level agreements applicable to clients and internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
  • Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards and resolve issues speedily to enhance client service delivery.

  • Provide input into the risk identification processes development and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.
  • Contribute to the development of area specific budgets to minimise expenditure, in alignment with operational plans.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
  • Implement and provide input into governance processes, systems and legislation within area of specialisation.
  • Escalate unresolved policy and governance compliance issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution purposes.
  • Provide input into the risk identification processes development and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.

Qualifications:

  • Matric certificate or Equivalent.
  • 3 Year Diploma or Degree in Accounting or any other relevant field of study.

Skills Development Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exposure to WSP and ATR is highly desirable
  • Support Skills development administration
  • Be client focused (both internal and external
  • Coordinate B-BBEE audit meetings and provide support to the sample divisions audited.
  • Compile accurate portfolios of evidence for various Transformation audits and submit to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain skills development monitoring and reporting measures, systems and procedures.
  • Accurately capture information on templates and systems to ensure data is readily available and enables Skills Development
  • Ensure all documentation complies with the requirements of the B-BBEE legislation and regulations
  • Assist and support the implementation of skills development  initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Matric

  • Experience in dealing with learnerships, Internships and Bursaries

Human Capital / IOP Internship

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On all processes and systems, proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements to boost efficiency and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to and champion process efficiencies within the human capital administration function to enhance and optimize the human capital value chain.
  • Provide administrative support for ad-hoc people practices, including but not limited to organisational design, talent management, and culture initiatives.
  • This role actively engages with employees and leaders and therefore it is important to ensure that you deal with any information professionally and confidentially.
  • Ensure that the senior HC team is informed of any themes/feedback from the floor pro-actively to address any problems that might be experienced to drive a high-performance culture.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BCom Honours in HR / Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
  • Masters in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management principles and practices and South African acts (i.e., BCEA, EEA, LRA).
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience within Human Resources/Human Capital function preferred.

Operational BA Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

INTERNAL PROCESS

  • Keep abreast of latest IT trends and practices to optimise service offering and minimise risk.
  • Gather and interpret requirements from key stakeholders/customers in line with business analysis frameworks.
  • Analyse and understand the business’ requirement and through a structured process document, validate and translate these into requirement specifications and functional specifications to be used by developers in crafting technical solutions and by testers to test and confirm successful delivery of solutions to the requirement.
  • Contribute to translating the business goals into design in line with systems architecture.
  • Act as a liaison between key stakeholders/customers and the project team to determine customer needs and translate these into business requirements.
  • Oversee the quality delivery of requirements and business process specifications that meet the agreed deliverables in line with best practices and business process.
  • Collaborate closely with solution teams and a variety of end-users to ensure requirements compatibility and end user satisfaction.
  • Participate in the solution design process to make recommendations to create and enhance solutions that are innovative, repeatable and sustainable and solve complex business problems.
  • Participate in User Acceptance testing and guide users to ensure that the designed solution ultimately meets business requirements.
  • Define the success criteria using scenario testing and test cases to ensure that testing covers all aspects of the business specification.
  • Test and validate the functionality of all technical solutions in line with business requirements on completion of development to ensure that business requirements are met in the implemented solutions.
  • Define reporting requirements and integration points on affected components using diagrammatic representations.

Engineering Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintenance of company facilities infrastructure, ensuring all systems function correctly.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of facilities equipment to identify faults or inefficiencies.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities, working with technicians to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of facility infrastructure components.
  • Document maintenance activities and compile reports on facilities infrastructure system performance.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance regulationswithin the facility.
  • Work closely with the Facilities team and external contractors on facility infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability projectswithin the organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • National Diploma/Degree in;-
    • Electrical/Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering
    • Or related qualification
  • Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical & electronic systems, maintenance, and safety regulations
  • Previous experience (internship, practical training, or coursework) in electrical/mechanical (HVAC) work (advantageous)

Project Management Intern

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining project scope in collaboration with the project manager, team, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including reports, dashboards, and key metrics.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and project reviews, ensuring efficient communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Take and distribute meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow-ups are completed.
  • Assist in budget tracking, procurement, and payment requisitions for project-related expenses.
  • Monitor project timelines, resource schedules, and expenditures to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Support the coordination of facilities-related project events and functions within budget and business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification in;-
    • Project Management
    • Or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
