The Necsa Group, through the Necsa Learning Academy (NLA), is pleased to announce the implementation of a Graduate Engineering Programme (GEP) for a period of 24-month with the aim to attract and develop bright, ambitious engineering graduates who aspire to build meaningful careers within the nuclear, energy and related technology sectors.
Programme Overview:
The Graduate Engineering Programme (GEP) offers a unique platform for emerging engineers to gain practical experience, professional
growth, and exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments across the Necsa Group.
Through structured rotations and guided mentorship, participants will engage in real engineering challenges, develop technical and leadership
competencies, and build a foundation for long-term career success within the organisation.
Key Features of the Programme:
- Structured Rotational Assignments: Gain exposure to a variety of departments and functions such as Design, Operations,
Maintenance, and Project Management. - Real-World Project Experience: Contribute meaningfully to active, high-impact projects from the outset.
- Continuous Mentorship & Performance Development: Receive guidance, feedback, and career support from experienced engineers
and technical experts. - Learning & Skills Development: Participate in a combination of on-the-job training, technical workshops, and specialist courses
designed to strengthen both engineering and professional competencies — including communication, leadership, and problem-solving. - Career Progression: Establish a solid foundation for future growth, with the potential for permanent placement upon successful
completion of the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Graduate Engineer Trainee within the Necsa Group, your key responsibilities in embarking on this structured development journey
designed to build technical depth, professional excellence, and leadership potential under the guidance of experienced engineers will include
the following;-
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in the design, development, and execution of engineering projects.
- Interpreting and applying technical drawings, models, and specifications to solve practical engineering challenges.
- Assisting in the design, implementation, testing, and optimization of systems, processes, and components.
- Performing engineering analyses, collecting and interpreting data, and preparing technical reports and improvement proposals.
- Supporting continuous improvement and innovation initiatives across design, manufacturing, and operational environments.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of project progress, results, and training milestones.
- Participating in structured mentorship, professional development sessions, and rotational assignments within the Graduate Engineering
Programme (GEP)
Requirements:
We are seeking highly motivated and talented engineering graduates who meet the following criteria;-
- Citizenship: South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Qualifications: A recent Bachelor’s Degree (BEng/BSc Eng) (minimum) in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Control & Instrumentation Engineering. A Master’s Degree (MEng/MSc Eng) will be an added advantage.
- Academic Performance: Strong academic record with excellent results in core engineering subjects.
- Experience: No prior full-time work experience is required. Previous vacation work, internships, or research projects are welcomed.
- Technical Skills: Computer literate and familiar with relevant engineering and design software (e.g. CAD, simulation, or modelling tools).
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills — both written and verbal.
- Personal Attributes: A collaborative team player with curiosity, adaptability, leadership potential, and a commitment to continuous
learning.
