DAERL APPLICATIONS OPEN — 2025/26 UNEMPLOYED AGRICULTURAL GRADUATE ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Land Reform and Rural Development (DAERL) is inviting applications for the 2025/26 Unemployed Agricultural Graduate Entrepreneurial Development Programme. The initiative aims to develop an inclusive and skilled agricultural sector by providing 80 unemployed graduates with practical workplace training and entrepreneurial exposure over a 24-month structured internship.
Eligibility Requirements:
- South African unemployed graduates aged 18–45.
- Must hold a Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Nature Conservation, Environmental Affairs or related fields
- First-time participants in a government internship.
- Able to commit to the full 24-month programme (no private study allowed).
- Women and persons with disabilities encouraged to apply.
Placement Areas:
Graduates will be placed across all five districts in enterprises including:
- John Taolo Gaetsewe – livestock, hydroponics
- Frances Baard – livestock, mixed farming, crop production, agro-processing
- Pixley Ka Seme – crop production, livestock, game/nature reserve management
- ZF Mgcawu – vineyards/raisins, mixed farming, crop production, agro-processing
- Namakwa – nature conservation, game management

- Correct reference number for the chosen enterprise
