YES Intern: Legal Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the facilitation of legal compliance for credit legislation, financial services legislation, financial intelligence legislation, and consumer legislation (SA, Rest of Africa, and Globally).
  • Conduct legal compliance monitoring (both physical and automated) under the guidance of the Legal Compliance Specialists.
  • Assist in clarification meetings with the business regarding monitoring findings.
  • Choose monitoring samples and interrogate automated monitoring results as a first line of monitoring.
  • Manage and upload Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) complaints and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and advise Legal Compliance Specialists of any legislative changes, including amendments and new laws.
  • Assist Legal Compliance Specialists with assessing the potential impact of legislative changes on the business.
  • Conduct research and news scanning to aid Legal Compliance Specialists with regulatory monitoring.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting of significant matters, including CGSO complaints.
  • Act as the Money-Laundering Officer and be responsible for reporting.
  • Highlight any non-compliance concerns to Legal Compliance Specialists through monthly legal compliance reports.
  • Deliver training as required and assist in drafting user-friendly training materials for head office and stores.
  • Monitor the efficacy of training and propose changes to improve effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualification (LLB/Law degree).
  • Admitted attorney/qualified legal practitioner.
  • Prior compliance experience is advantageous.

YES Intern: Health & Safety

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits at head office, regional offices, and stores.
  • Support the development and delivery of health and safety training programs for employees.
  • Participate in incident investigations and assist in the preparation of reports.
  • Help maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of health and safety awareness.
  • Assist in the preparation of safety communications and materials.
  • Contractor Management
  • Conduct applicable inspections.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A keen interest in health and safety regulations and best practices as this is a This is a training opportunity.
  • Matric
  • SAMTRAC or National Diploma Safety Management is required

YES Intern: Omni (Sportscene)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the samples process from the Store and DC to studio for hollow images
  • Ensures samples are returned from studio to trading location
  • Assist with sourcing images from the buy-plan across portals, 3P websites
  • Maintain all relevant product information is accurate and up to date
  • Approve the quality of the site
  • Online availability checks

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant Diploma or Degree in;-
    • Marketing,
    • Digital Marketing,
    • Or a related field.

YES Intern: Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of Change Requests to collate and provide estimations and the assessment of change.
  • Gathering business requirements from a wide range of Operations Customers across various divisions.
  • Prepare Business, Functional, and System Requirement documents.
  • Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including technical, functional, and business at both local and remote locations.
  • Involved in the support of deployments. This entails creating and maintaining system-related documentation, such as business requirements, process flows, and configuration worksheets.
  • Configuring system settings and options and executing unit integrations and system testing.
  • Collaborating with the client’s businesses for the design of processes and providing solutions for implementation.
  • Unit Testing to ensure that configuration works according to the requirements.
  • Quality Assurance Testing to ensure development meets requirements.
  • User Acceptance Testing/ Provide guidance to business on UAT.
  • Manage configuration/development into Production.
  • Production Testing to ensure that requirements work in production

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree in;-
    • Business,
    • Technology,
    • Or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of ERP/EPM/Automation systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies through coursework or projects.
  • Interest in change management and willingness to learn and support implementation efforts.
  • Ability to provide support in change management activities.
  • Basic knowledge of Operations Systems is advantageous.

YES Intern: Business Intelligence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and documenting the reporting requirements for the respective business areas
  • Investigating data sources and querying the data using SQL
  • Documenting functional requirements to the source system
  • Documenting source to target mapping for new solutions
  • Providing recommendations on presentation of information
  • Support training of users
  • Support testing of new Data models
  • Creating test cases and plans
  • Ensuring solutions meet the requirements and needs of the business
  • Creating reports and dashboards
  • Building and maintaining effective internal and external stakeholder relationship management
  • Keeping abreast of latest market developments with regards to Data tools and methodologies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in;-
    • Computer Science
    • Or related fields
  • Data analysis theoretical experience in extracting, harmonising and structuring data
  • Experience in working with data visualization tools (Pyramid or PowerBI preferred) for proof of Concepts
  • Knowledge of SQL for data analysis
  • Advanced MS Office user
  • Knowledge of Dimensional Modelling/Data Warehousing

YES Intern: Facility Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in overseeing the maintenance department and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors for repair and maintenance services.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance service providers, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and maintenance processes.
  • Willingness to learn and gain experience in facilities management.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Available for standby and after-hours call outs.
  • Ability to travel.

YES Intern: Store Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and/or review high risk areas and produce quality audit reports
  • Proactively identify and rate risk
  • Utilise data to perform exception and trend-based analysis
  • Develop audit programmes
  • Facilitate risk workshops
  • Liaise extensively at a senior level with internal business partners

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in;-
    • Accounting,
    • Retail Business Management,
    • Internal Auditing
    • Or a related field.
  • Progressing towards CIA.

YES Intern: Frontline (HR/Finance)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all relevant administration tasks/functions handled by the frontline team
  • General administrative support
  • Collaborate with various HR teams to ensure accurate and speedy resolution of request or query
  • To engage with our customers across multiple platforms and technology
  • Respond to customers queries in a timely and professional manner

YES Intern: Sourcing & Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Review and verify charges and billing accuracy.
  • Resolve issues related to billing discrepancies and supplier concerns.
  • Conduct regular stock takes in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Facilitate the resolution of payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify and address inefficiencies/opportunities in supplier processes.

2. Business Unit Operational Support:

  • Collaborate with Business Units (BU) to develop and execute demand planning strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate product changes in partnership with BUs.
  • Manage stock write-off processes efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
  • Oversee and maintain up-to-date product catalogues.

3. Financial Management:

  • Execute month-end journaling to cost centres with a high degree of accuracy, especially under time constraints.
  • Manage stock write-offs, ensuring all processes are compliant and documented.
  • Address and resolve financial queries across Accounts Payable, suppliers, and Business Units.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric certificate.
  • Relevant qualification in;-

    • Design (Sourcing).
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management, financial operations, or large-scale stationery fulfilment operations.
  • Customer-centric with a high delivery approach.
  • Proven large volume stocktake experience.

YES Intern: Enterprise Risk Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the risk culture across the Group.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and processes.
  • Apply the TFG risk methodology and support risk awareness initiatives.
  • Arrange, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, including maintaining agendas and minutes.
  • Provide support with the risk analysis process.
  • Prepare annual risk assessment workshop presentations and other ERM presentations.
  • Support climate change risk identification and scenario work.
  • Assist with admin and workshop preparations for the Group’s Double Materiality reporting.
  • Maintain processes such as risk registers, assurance plan evidence, third-party risk assessment tools, and incident and crisis tools.
  • Support users in using various risk tools and ensure timely capture of controls against risks.
  • Assess and analyze risks through KRIs, predictive analytics, risk metrics, research, and insights.
  • Compile presentations, including the monthly reporting pack, CEO/CFO updates, and board reports.
  • Develop and deliver various risk awareness initiatives, ERM trainings, and change management.
  • Share risk insights with the business and engage on responses and mitigations.
  • Continuously monitor and update emerging risks, risk events, and risk incidents.
  • Help develop processes and tools to improve ERM processes.

YES Intern: Project Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with coordinating and managing marketing projects.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking activities.
  • Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and team members.
  • Help identify and resolve project issues and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of project presentations and reports.
  • Provide administrative support to the marketing project management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create captivating content for our social media platforms to attract potential candidates.
  • Work closely with the team to understand recruitment needs and contribute to targeted campaigns.
  • Learn to monitor and analyse the effectiveness of social media campaigns, providing insights and suggestions for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in social media and recruitment.

YES Intern: Talent Acquisition

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate assessments.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and facilitate seamless communication between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate references and all other checks.
  • Maintain and update candidate databases and applicant tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects related to recruitment and human resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues
  • Collaborate with HR teams to ensure seamless payroll processing
  • Perform other payroll and administrative tasks as required
  • Monitoring data to ensure accurate records of employee attendance, hours worked, and other relevant information
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll data and employee information
  • Ensuring compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and relevant sectoral determinations
