Purpose of the Job

To undergo trainee management programme, serving as a feeder to the Logistics & Distribution key and critical roles with focus on managing the operations, storage, handling and bulk distribution process of petroleum products in a most cost-effective manner and with consideration to HSEQ to effectively support marketing objectives, thereby contributing to the optimization of profit opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance of safety critical equipment to the applicable standard and take responsibility and accountability for Plant Maintenance
  • Maintain asset integrity through process safety management
  • Initiate and manage the capital project as per applicable policies
  • Manage maintenance cost and plant optimisation
  • Ensure review of plant specific maintenance procedures
  • Ensure internal maintenance inspections are adhered to

Key Accountabilities:

PLANT MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING

  • Ensure compliance of safety critical equipment to the applicable standard and take responsibility and accountability for Plant Maintenance
  • Maintain asset integrity through process safety management
  • Initiate and manage the capital project as per applicable policies
  • Manage maintenance cost and plant optimisation
  • Ensure review of plant specific maintenance procedures
  • Ensure internal maintenance inspections are adhered to

COST CONTROL & BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Assist in determining project forecast for year ahead and manage budget
  •  Tracking of OPEX spend and manage cost control processes
  • Generate expense report with variance analysis and governance issues including report submission
  • Manage expenses and how it should be kept within agreed budget and provide timeous report analysis
  • Coordinate administration and related activities in accordance with policies and procedures

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Familiar with receipt, storage, handling, and distribution process complies with OHSE Act, Standing instructions
  • Understand Audit reports and their compliance to the policies and procedures
  • Prepare exchange balances with OOC for receipts and accommodation arrangements are managed

BUSINESS CONTROLS

  • Reconcile Fixed Asset Register and Inventory Balances and ensure they are valid, accurate and complete
  • Ensure completeness of income and adherence to business controls and procedures
  • Ensure utilisation of systems and equipment according to design specifications
  • Record ongoing analysis of outputs, identification and implementation of agreed opportunities
  • Ensure understanding of audit processes and objectives and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Understanding of legislative requirements and compliance and adhere to company standards and procedures & local by-laws

STAKEHOLDER & COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Engage internal customers and stakeholders on service delivery needs as per SLA’s
  • Understanding of external stakeholder engagements and learn to consult with all stakeholders to determine timelines
  • Understand and communicate HSEQ procedures and ensure compliance to HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Ensure understanding of 3rd party agreements to ensure Terminal operations compliance with agreements
  • Manage site efficiencies to ensure safe working and operating environment

TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT

  • Cost efficient and safe operating environment through managing performance
  • Understanding of compliance with 3rd parties within operating standards and procedures
  • Familiarisation with approved maintenance plans and ensure they are in place and executed according to industry standards
  • Understanding of Engineering audits and ensure full compliance with agreed standards
  • Adherence to standard procedures and ensure that action items are attended to by agreed deadlines

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 7 (Degree) in;-
    • Engineering
    • Supply Chain
    • Logistics
    • Operations
    • Product Management
  • 3 years Depot Operations experience including Transport and Inventory or Asset Management
  • Knowledge of relevant HSEQ Regulations and Acts

Advantageous

  • Petrochemical industry experience
