A Junior Agronomist position is available at Greenway Farms (Tarlton – Gauteng). The position is responsible toAssists in planning, implementing, and evaluating agricultural programs, conducting research, and providing technical support to farmers, growers, and agricultural stakeholders. Souitable Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in agronomy, agricultural research, or extension services. Internship or research experience desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Crop Management:
- Conduct soil surveys, analyze soil samples, and recommend fertilizers.
- Develop and implement crop rotation plans, irrigation schedules, and pest management strategies.
- Monitor crop health, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
Research and Development:
- Assist in designing, conducting, and analyzing field experiments.
- Collect and analyze data on crop yields, growth patterns, and environmental impact.
- Stay updated on latest agricultural research, technologies, and best practices.
Extension Services:
- Provide technical advice to farmers, growers, and agricultural stakeholders.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.
- Develop and disseminate educational materials (e.g., leaflets, guides).
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze data from field experiments, surveys, and monitoring programs.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and publications.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., research, extension, farm management).
- Communicate with stakeholders (e.g., farmers, industry partners, government agencies).
Minimum Requirements:
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in;-
- Agronomy,
- Agricultural Science,
- Crop Science,
- Or related field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in agronomy, agricultural research, or extension services.
- Internship or research experience desirable.
