About the Role:
This middle management position involves substantial operational duties, focusing on designing, developing, and implementing systems, procedures, and techniques to ensure mine stability. The role also includes providing expert advice on operational and long-term balance regarding safety, cost, and production.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ground management expert advice on operational and long-term balance
- Assist in creating systems that embed safe practices
- Ensure long-term stability of critical structures and environmentally sensitive areas
- Support line managers in managing risk effective
- lyIdentify, develop, and introduce best practices in mine design and support design
- Provide input into annual Rock Engineering budg
- etOverall accountability for safety performance and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- BTech or University Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in;-
- Mining Engineering or Geology
- Certificate of Competency as Strata Control Officer – Coal (Must)
- Certificate of Competency as Rock Engineer – Coal (Must)
- Member of SANIRE (Wish)
Required Skills:
- 3+ relevant years in underground coal mining
Preferred Skills:
