AECI Specialty Minerals invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for Learner Process Shift Technician Temporary Position.
Location: Merebank, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager/Senior Technician, manufacturers precipitated carbonate and other related products for use by the host paper mill.
Required Outputs: Functional
- Participates in the sites Safety Programme to ensure that Environmental, health and safety of personnel is maintained.
- Manage operational duties which include operating plant field equipment and interfacing from a computer-controlled workstation, directing maintenance and contractors for maintenance activities.
- Conducts all Quality assurance by use of SPC, analysis and testing of raw materials and products, lab instrument calibrations, in line with local procedures.
- Contribute to the overall operations Excellence Programme, which include 5S , standard work, lean improvements.
- Works on a rotating shift basis
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to callout after hour for all plant support
Qualifications & Experience:
- Preferable qualification – qualified electrician or other electrical field.
- Other tertiary qualification in either chemical or mechanical may be considered.
- Up to 1 year work experience
