PRASA: Graduate In Training Programme 2025 / 2026

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) invites unemployed graduates to apply for Graduate In Training Programme for 2025 / 2026.

Location: PRASA Head Office, Umjantshi House, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Job Type: Graduate Traineeship / Internship

Closing Date: 19 May 2025

This is a 12-month structured programme offering workplace learning opportunities for youth who have completed tertiary qualifications but lack practical work experience.

Interns will receive practical training, mentorship, and a stipend under various departments at PRASA’s Head Office in Johannesburg.

Departmental Mission:

Provision of workplace learning exposure to graduates who need workplace experience in the respective qualification

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed a relevant diploma or degree
  • No previous work experience required
  • Must meet the minimum qualification criteria for the stream applying for

Graduate In Training – Employee Relations

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Ensure that disciplinary actions are fair and consistent under company policies and applicable laws.
  • Focus on resolving employee disputes and grievances promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in clarifying what is expected of employees and ensure that their work aligns with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Draft minutes when the ER manager is advising managers on difficult people issues

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management (specialisation in Labour Relations is an advantage)

Graduate In Training – Group Internal Audit (x6 posts)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Provide administrative support.
  • Collect and analyse data suitable to achieve audit objectives.
  • Provide Minute all engagement with client management
  • Provide Assist in the compilation in the Annual Plan.
  • Assist in the indications of fraud and/or irregularity.

Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in;-

  • Internal Audit,
  • Accounting Science,
  • Information Technology (with focus on Software Engineering/Software Development) or
  • Forensic Investigations

Graduate In Training – Organisation Design and Change (HR) (x2 posts)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Provide administrative support.
  • Assist with job evaluation/grading
  • Assist with the scheduling of job analysis and grading sessions, Job Profiling Committee and OD team meetings etc.
  • Assist in developing change management strategies and plans

Qualifications: Degree in;-

  • Industrial Psychology
  • Industrial and Organisational Psychology

Graduate In Training – Information & Communications Technology (ICT) (x8 posts)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Assisting with software development: This could involve coding, testing, debugging, and contributing to the development of applications or systems
  • Documentation: Creating or updating technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Incident management: Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving IT issues, including incident reporting and documentation.
  • Network administration: Support with network troubleshooting, monitoring, and configuration.
  • Hardware maintenance: Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware.

Qualification:

  • National Diploma in Information Technology

Graduate In Training – CM Analyst (HR)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Talent Management: Ensuring the organization has the right people in the right roles.
  • Collecting data on various metrics, such as employee satisfaction scores, turnover rates, training completion rates, or recruitment costs.
  • Extracting information from SAP
  • Assisting the department with AG requests.
  • Assist HR personnel get the correct information for monthly reports,

Qualification:

  • B Degree in HRM with Financial/Management Accounting at second level

Graduate In Training – Group Corporate Affairs (x4 posts)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Brand Awareness: Increasing the visibility and recognition of a brand.
  • Writing articles for the organisation and conducting research.
  • Assisting in the graphic design for the PRASA website.
  • Revenue Generation: Driving sales and increasing revenue.
  • Customer Retention: Keeping existing customers engaged and loyal.

Qualifications: National Diploma or B Degree in;-

  • Graphic Design
  • Marketing
  • Public Administration (Affairs)
  • Journalism or
  • Copywriter

Graduate In Training – Payroll HR

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Provide support Payroll Officers with the correction of identified errors.
  • Generate remuneration statement reports and management of the distribution thereof.
  • Assisting in Reconciling:
    • tax deductions against SARS requirement.
    • incoming and outgoing interface.
    • centralized IRP5 process.

Qualifications: National Diploma or B Degree in;-

  • Accounting
  • Payroll Management
  • SAP Professional Certificate an added advantage

Graduate In Training – Group Strategy (x2 posts)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Assist in researching industry trends, competitor analysis, market research, or internal data to support strategic decisions.
  • Gathering and analyzing data to monitor progress against strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in developing an understanding of strategic concepts, frameworks, and their application to business problems.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism in their work.
  • Contribute to achieving the organization’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications: National Diploma/B Degree in;-

  • Business Management
  • Economics
  • Mathematical Statistics
  • Data Science
