We are seeking a Logistics and Transport Management Trainee. This role will focus on developing the practical experience within a supply chain.  Some of the tasks involve duties such as coordinating transportation, optimising routes, and managing inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Coordination: Organising and overseeing the movement of goods, including selecting appropriate modes of transport, scheduling deliveries, and tracking shipments.
  • Route Optimisation: Utilising software and data analysis to find the most efficient and cost-effective routes for transportation.
  •  Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  •  Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analysing data related to logistics operations, preparing reports for management, and identifying areas for improvement.
  •  Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  •  Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, damage, or discrepancies.
  •  Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: A Degree or Diploma in;-
    • Logistics,
    • Supply Chain Management,
    • Or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to transportation and logistics.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using logistics software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are important for ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations.
  • Financial acumen: Must be able to grasp financial concepts.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards,
  • Experience with specific logistics software or systems,
  • Strong organisational and time management skills,
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure, and
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
