We are seeking a Logistics and Transport Management Trainee. This role will focus on developing the practical experience within a supply chain. Some of the tasks involve duties such as coordinating transportation, optimising routes, and managing inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transportation Coordination: Organising and overseeing the movement of goods, including selecting appropriate modes of transport, scheduling deliveries, and tracking shipments.
- Route Optimisation: Utilising software and data analysis to find the most efficient and cost-effective routes for transportation.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analysing data related to logistics operations, preparing reports for management, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, damage, or discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: A Degree or Diploma in;-
- Logistics,
- Supply Chain Management,
- Or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to transportation and logistics.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using logistics software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are important for ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations.
- Financial acumen: Must be able to grasp financial concepts.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards,
- Experience with specific logistics software or systems,
- Strong organisational and time management skills,
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure, and
- A proactive and results-oriented approach.
