Chemical Engineering Intern

The Internship Programme aims to develop graduates through a Mentorship and Rotational Programme to build on the required organisational skills; as well as to serve as a Talent Acquisition and Retention Programme. The Intern, based on organisational need and project assigned, will be responsible for the management and implementation of the assigned project.

  • Project Management and Implementation of assigned project
  • Accurate reporting and timeous on project progress
  • Participate in the execution of Ad Hoc Projects Assigned by the Coach and Mentor
  • Ensure a clear understanding of Project, Project Objectives and the desired outcomes; as well as to aim to achieve objectives and outcomes.
  • Ensure that development and tracking meetings take place between the Graduate, Coach and Mentor
  • Submit Mentorship Timesheets to the Talent management Department
  • Assess the process in order to find efficiency initiatives
  • Develop solutions to the efficiency initiatives
  • Request for Capex for the efficiency projects
  • Execute projects with the help of the site team
  • Manage budget spend of the projects
  • After execution, track savings of the projects

Requirements:

  • Education: Chemical Engineering
  • 1 – 2 Year Experience in Field of Study
  • Project Management Experience
  • Excellent Computer Literacy

Operations Intern

In this role the Incumbent is required to work under the supervision of the Regional Operations Manager or Regional Logistics Manager to learn AL activities as assigned. He/she will be required to perform functions related to process KPI’s, Process Projects etc. He/she will be required to work with operations Facility Manager & Supervisors as per the incumbent’s assignment.

Manage 

  • They’re required to participate in the  updating of the production sheets.
  • Execute tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager/Operations Manager/Supervisor.

Maintenance of all equipment 

  • As assigned

Safety 

  • As assigned

Production  

  • As assigned

Educational Requirements:

  • Education: National Diploma/BTech in;-
    • Chemical Engineering,
    • Industrial Engineering or
    • Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • University leaving experience
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, and AutoCad

Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job:

  • Strong  knowledge of chemical engineering
  • Compatibility of Materials
  • Know risks related to Inert gasses, flammable gasses, and  toxic gasses

Technical Training Intern

In this position the incumbent is responsible for converting training evidence into a digital format, assisting with departmental administrative duties and improving training material as well as risk awareness posters to strengthen the training message in the field.

  • Update Qualification Table and store soft copy evidence in a centralised platform.
  • Create soft copy evidence of existing training files and save in a centralised platform.
  • Follow-up on outstanding training evidence and on-the-job evaluations.
  • Coordinating implementation of planned training.
  • Preparation and distribution of training material / qualification certificates.
  • Provide all training attendance registers to the Skills Development Facilitator.
  • Assist in compiling all evidence required for audits.
  • Assist in the Intelex training project roll out.
  • Training material localisation / requalification and poster design development.

Educational Requirements:

  • Training or Human Resources Qualification
  • Matric certificate

Experience:

  • 2 years administrative and data capturing experience.

Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job:

  • Operate autonomously
  • Build relationships
