Responsibilities:

• Preparation of buffers and growth media.
• Isolation ,purification ,preservation of bacterial cultures.
• DNA extraction, CPR Sanger sequence analysis from plant pathogenic bacteria.
• Maintaining and expanding the PPPPB culture collection.
• Assist with data capturing.
• Provide research support for diagnostics.
• Adhere to quality standards.
• Complies with SHE/OHS regulations and procedures.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Biotechnology.
• BTech will be an added advantage.
• Applicable experience in a bacteriology laboratory will be an advantage.
• Experience in preservation of bacteria.
• Experience in sequence analysis will be an advantage .
• Assist with glasshouse trials.
• The ability to work independently, in a team, being pro -active and a use of  initiative.
• Experience with Microsoft office package.
