Duties and Responsibilities:
What you’ll be doing;-
- Create content for our Afrikaans titles’ digital platforms.
- Report on breaking news as well as writing in-depth articles.
- Search for interesting stories online our readers will enjoy.
- Help compile newsletters our readers will find interesting.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts.
Requirements:
Apply if you;-
- Have a tertiary qualification in Journalism, Afrikaans and Dutch or any other relevant qualification (e.g., Media Studies).
- Are curious about the world and its people, and are in touch with current events both locally and internationally.
- Are eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Love stories and storytelling, regardless of format or platform.
- Are a good writer but are also interested in digital media.
- Are adept at shooting video on a smartphone.
Skills:
What we need;-
- Excellent storytelling skills.
- Above average Afrikaans language skills.
- The ability to work quickly, accurately and under pressure.
- The ability to find a fresh angle to tell a story.
- The ability to work in a team and follow an editor’s instructions.
- Someone who’s driven, energetic and basically awesome.
