HRD Intern
The Role
Oversees and coordinates departmental/ project activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service/objectives.
Role Description
Develop and execute a broad range of corporate administrative services within approved policies and objectives including several or all the following: office services, contract administration, purchasing, real estate, insurance, and/or data processing.
Assists in establishing effective and efficient documenting systems and process for departmental service to all users.
Ensures delivery deadlines and activities are met in terms of reports, work tasks, gate-keeping and other deliverables.
Coordination of Learning and Development Projects and Courses
Facilitation of Soft Skills programs, workshops, and corporate training
Participation in Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reporting

Engineering Intern: Human Resource Development
This role lies primarily in the Human Resource division of our business
In this role you will be deployed in various divisions within Sandvik, this will provide you with the theoretical and practical experience as an Engineer. You will increase your competencies and skills through the support of senior staff.
Your program will cover two key areas which are detailed as below
Operational Exposure:
Where you’ll have opportunity to work as part of the production workshop team and service contract teams in the with an objective of developing Product Knowledge, Product Application & On-site exposure to a variety of our customers,
You will be exposed to various systems and processes employed in the delivery of our products and services to our customers.
During this time, you will also be exposed to the mining environment and competencies,
You will gain operational & technical competency and experience of our key products with a view of developing a product demonstrations experience.
You will be involved in various new product and optimisation projects with some of our skilled training practitioners.
Human Resource Development Exposure:
You will gain experience in the following;-
- Conducting skills audits on the various divisions of the business.
- Facilitating product training and demonstrations, compliance, and corporate training.
- Conducting Assessments & Moderation.
- Performance Needs and Gap Analysis Projects Preparation of WSP (Workplace skills Planning) and Submissions Preparations and submission of ATR (Annual Training Report).
- Training Program Development and Implementation.
- Management of Engineering and Related Learning Programs (i.e., Apprenticeship, Learnerships and Internships) Programs) Management of Learnerships
Business Exposure:

HRD Intern: Systems and Data Analytics
Job Summary
To support the Human Resource Development (HRD) function through the design, automation, and management of digital systems and databases that enhance training administration, record keeping, and reporting efficiency. The incumbent will develop and maintain Power Platform applications, automate HRD workflows, manage eLearning deployment data, and analyse training metrics to enable data-driven decision-making across the Learning & Development function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applies and integrates advanced and predictive analysis, people metrics and reporting to develop strategic and operational insights for workforce decision-making (e.g. staffing, learning and development, talent management, diversity and human resource compliance).
- Develop and maintain Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for HRD workflows.
- Create and manage SharePoint databases and dashboards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot systems to ensure continuity.
- Collect, clean, and validate data from HRD systems.
- Develop Power BI dashboards
- Support BBBEE and Skills Development reporting.
- Administer and monitor eLearning on LMS.
- Maintain learner progress data.
- Generate compliance reports.
- Identify HRD processes for automation.
