Transnet Port Terminals is looking for dynamic and recently qualified graduates for a two-year programme (24 months programme). This programme will provide the incumbents with relevant workplace experience through a structured learning programme and organisational support.
Purpose of Position:
Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites suitable, unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18-35 to apply for a two-year graduate development programme, within various functional areas to be provided with both the institutionalised knowledge and on-the-job training to help you build a solid work experience to increase prospects of employability. The programme is structured and mentored for twenty-four months and candidates progress is assessed after every six months to ensure that the programme meets the expectations of both the candidate and TFR.
This exciting opportunity is aimed at unemployed graduates from the Department of Higher Education & Training registered institutions i.e., Universities, Universities of Technology, TVET Colleges with a National Diploma / Diploma / Bachelors’ degree / BTech qualification with NQF Level 6 and 7 with no prior work experience in their respective field of study.

- National Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management
- Honours or Master’s Degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors
- National Diploma in Safety Management/ BA in Safety Management / BA in Disaster and Safety/Risk Management
- BA Law/LLB/BCom Law/Contract Law
- National Diploma/Degree in Tourism Management or related discipline / Diploma in Travel & Tourism/ Marketing
- Degree /National Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management, Degree/National Diploma in Project Management, Degree/National Diploma in Industrial Engineering
- BCom Commercial/ BCom Law/BCom Marketing (research)/BCom Economics/BCom Finance/BCom Strategic Management/ BCom with Information System/ BCom IT
- BSc Natural Sciences (Earth & Environmental)/BSc in Environmental Science/ Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management or BTECH in Environmental Science
- Degree/ National Diploma-Internal Auditing/Bachelor of Accounting/BCom Accounting/Auditing/Taxation/Finance/Information Management/BSc with Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics
Experience:
- No prior work experience is required
Competencies:
- Good written and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- Problem solving and pay attention to detail.
