About the Opportunity:
Sentraal-Suid Co-Operative Ltd (SSK) is currently recruiting a General Worker – Electrical to join its Property Maintenance department in Swellendam. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will assist with the daily inspection of buildings and facilities, perform repairs, and support maintenance operations to ensure that company infrastructure remains functional and well-maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings and facilities.
- Repair broken equipment, lights, doors, windows and other infrastructure.
- Perform daily inspections of tools and equipment.
- Complete inspection reports and maintenance records.
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe use of tools and equipment.
- Assist with general maintenance duties as required.
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in Property Maintenance or a similar role.
- Technical training or experience in electrical work is required.
- Experience in plumbing, construction, carpentry and painting will be advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 8 or Code 10).
- Knowledge of portable tools and equipment.
- Ability to use tools and equipment safely.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Willingness to work away from home when operational requirements demand.
