Purpose of this Role:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Researcher with a background in Anthropology or Sociology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with a focus on collecting and analyzing data to assess and highlight the social impact of our work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to meaningful social research and support the creation of case studies that demonstrate the value of our projects.
Key Accountabilities and Outputs:
- Data Collection & Analysis: Assist in collecting both qualitative and quantitative data through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and field research. Analyse the data to identify trends, social patterns, and impacts.
- Case Study Development: Support the writing and development of compelling case studies that highlight the social impact of our initiatives. Ensure that case studies are data-driven, clear, and align with organisational goals.
- Social Impact Reporting: Assist in the preparation of reports that evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of projects in terms of social change. Help quantify the social impact and translate it into meaningful insights for stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with team members from different departments to integrate research findings into organizational strategies. Communicate findings and insights effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A Degree in;-
- Anthropology,
- Sociology,
- Or a related field.
- Strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Experience or familiarity with social impact measurement and reporting.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise reports
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for social change and understanding of how research can influence positive outcomes in communities.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, or similar)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with case study writing or similar forms of qualitative research documentation.
- Familiarity with social impact assessment tools or frameworks (e.g., Social Return on Investment, Theory of Change).
- Knowledge of research ethics and data privacy principles
